Terms and conditions of use

Welcome to About International Education, an online platform dedicated to language teaching. By accessing our website and using our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before registering or making any payment. 

1. Definitions 

  • “User” or “Student”: any person who accesses, browses, or uses our educational services. 

  • “Classes”: language teaching sessions, either individual or group-based, conducted remotely (online). 

  • “Languages”: any of the languages offered through the Platform, including but not limited to Spanish and English. 

2. Services Provided 

The Platform offers online language classes at various levels, designed for students of different nationalities. Classes may be purchased through subscriptions, memberships, packages, or individual or group sessions, depending on availability. 

3. User Registration and Account 

To access the services, users must register. The User declares that the information provided is accurate and agrees to keep their account credentials confidential. The account is personal and non-transferable. 

4. Payments and Billing 

All payments are processed through Stripe, a secure payment gateway. 

Prices are shown in euros (€) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. 

By subscribing or making a purchase, the User authorizes the corresponding charge to their chosen payment method. 

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy 

Classes may be canceled or rescheduled at no additional cost if done at least 24 hours in advance. 
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time will not be eligible for a refund.

6. Intellectual Property 

All content available on the Platform (including materials, recordings, texts, images, etc.) is the intellectual property of About International Education or its collaborators. Such content is for personal learning purposes only and may not be reproduced without explicit permission. 

7. Service Availability 

We strive to ensure continuous service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access due to technical issues or force majeure. 
We reserve the right to modify schedules or temporarily suspend access for maintenance or system upgrades. 

8. Teacher Verification 

All teachers on our platform have undergone a process of identity and credential verification to ensure quality teaching standards. 

9. Code of Conduct 

Users are expected to behave respectfully, professionally, and cooperatively during classes and in all communication related to the service. 
We reserve the right to temporarily suspend access or block a user account in cases of inappropriate behavior. No refunds will be issued in cases of serious violations of conduct. 

10. Changes to the Terms 

We may update these Terms at any time. Any modifications will be published on the Platform and will take effect from the date of publication. Continued use of the service implies acceptance of the updated Terms. 

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction 

These Terms are governed by Portuguese law. Any disputes arising from the interpretation or execution of this agreement shall be submitted to the competent courts of Portugal, unless otherwise required by law. 

12. Privacy Policy 

We are committed to protecting Users’ privacy in accordance with applicable laws, including the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We collect and process personal data necessary to provide our services, such as name, email address, payment details, and other relevant information. 

Data will be treated confidentially and will not be shared with third parties without consent, except as required by law. Users have the right to access, rectify, delete their data, and request limitation or portability of processing by contacting us at contact@aboutinternationaleducation.eu.

13. Limitation of Liability 

About International Education is not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Platform or the services provided. 

The Platform and its content are provided “as is” without express or implied warranties regarding their operation or results. We do not guarantee specific learning outcomes, as these depend on each User’s individual effort. 

14. Cookies Policy 

Our website uses cookies to enhance the User experience, analyze traffic, and personalize content. By browsing the Platform, the User accepts the use of cookies in accordance with our Cookies Policy, available on the Platform. 

Users may configure their browsers to block or delete cookies, though this may affect site functionality. 

15. Complaint Resolution 

For any complaints or inquiries related to the services, Users may contact us at contact@aboutinternationaleducation.eu. We commit to responding within a reasonable timeframe and seeking an amicable resolution. If conflicts cannot be resolved directly, the parties may resort to the appropriate legal mechanisms under applicable law. 

16. Subscription Cancellation and Service Termination 

Users may cancel their monthly subscription at any time via their account on the Platform or by contacting our support team. 

Cancellation must be requested before the start of the next billing cycle to avoid automatic charges for that cycle. If cancellation is requested after this deadline, the subscription will automatically renew and the next period will be charged. 

Cancellation will take effect from the next billing cycle with no additional charges thereafter. 

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate a User’s account in case of serious breaches of these Terms and Conditions or the Code of Conduct, without entitlement to a refund.
